Specially-designed cages, conforming to the IATA Live Animal Regulations and the Eu council directive (91/68/EEC) provision/Transportation of Animal by Air will be used. The cages, made of fiberglass and soft materials, are being imported from Arlington, Texas.

The cages will have a spillproof water and nutrient supply system, animal - release - proof safety latches and related features.

The service will be priced on actuals such as air freight and surcharge plus cage rental and fees payable to handlers and vets.

The demand for transportation of pets is estimated to be considerable of large scale transfers of Central Government and Defence services personnel besides those employed in banks and private firms.

At present a family on transfer has to either gift away the pets or go through the rigours of getting a cage made and then booking it in the Cargo Hold of an aircraft.

There is also a demand among the dog breeders and trainers for transportation of dogs for participation in shows and competitions as also transporting guard dogs to factories, plantations and so on.
